08 – Christmas 1966

The platoon took a break from operations for the week between Christmas 1966 through New Years Day 1967.  Bob Rose wanted martinis for the celebration, so they got the ingredients and had martinis.  They should have gotten more vermouth, though, because they ran out.  This was no problem for the innovative thinkers they were.  They just mixed the gin with some cherry Kool-Aid that Ken Wilks’ mother had sent him.  Ken claims that “it wasn’t too bad.” High praise, indeed.
